Echeveria 'Red Rose'

Echeveria 'Red Rose'

A striking hybrid import from Korea, Echeveria 'Red Rose' produces large, symmetrical rosettes that can reach up to 12 cm across. Mature plants develop intense red to copper tones in bright light, especially during cooler months. Compact and sturdy, this hybrid offsets as it matures and adds vivid contrast to any succulent display.

Care

  • Light: Full sun to partial shade. Best colour develops in bright conditions with good airflow. Indoors, place only in very bright light.
  • Water: Water all year with longer dry periods in winter. Allow soil to dry completely between waterings. Plants can survive dry periods but grow best with regular deep watering in warm months.
  • Media: Well-drained succulent mix; avoid heavy or moisture-retentive soils.
  • Temperature: Protect from frost; ideal above 7 °C.
  • Feeding: Apply 25% of the normal fertiliser rate monthly during active growth. Too much nitrogen can reduce colour intensity.
  • Repotting: Can be left to overgrow their pots, or repotted in warmer months into any well-drained mix.

Key Characteristics

  • Rosette size: Up to 12 cm (mature)
  • Leaf: Glossy red to copper tones with green undertones
  • Habit: Compact and symmetrical; will offset with age
  • Flower: Typical Echeveria bell flowers, pink to orange on arching scapes
  • Propagation: Offsets or leaf cuttings

Note: Decorative or slip pots shown in photos are for display purposes only and are not included with the plant.
