Coelogyne wenzelii (syn. Dendrochilum wenzellii)

Coelogyne wenzelii (syn. Dendrochilum wenzellii) is a beautiful miniature orchid species producing cascading sprays of vibrant, copper-red flowers with contrasting golden centres. Each slender inflorescence carries many small, star-shaped blooms that open in sequence, creating a rich display over several weeks. Native to the Philippines, this species is a compact grower ideal for baskets, terrariums, or small pots.

Previously placed in Dendrochilum, this species is now recognised within Coelogyne. It grows readily under warm, humid conditions and forms dense clumps of fine, grassy leaves that flower freely once established.
